In her book My Mother's Daughter, former
Seward resident H. J. Cummins,
now of Minneapolis, Minnesota, places
her own life in the context of her mother's experiences as a survivor
of World War II. Seward residents will recognize many of the
people and places in the book.
Seward, Nebraska,
resident Richard Duncan has published his first book, Butterfly
Angel.His poems,
essays, and stories,
written to his family and friends, encourage readers to remember their
own loved ones.
In 2004, author Charlotte Endorf of Norfolk, Nebraska, made the decision to document the stories of real children who rode the "orphan trains" between 1854 and 1929. Plains Bound: Fragile Cargo is the book she created to do so. She has also written After the Rain, Oh the Beautiful Rainbow with her daughter, and their new book, By Train They Came, is due by December 2007.
Christa Fairchild, of
Columbus, Nebraska, has recently published her first romance, Duchess on the Run, which is set

Eldon Hostetler, of Milford,
Nebraska, is the author of The Way
It Was, a history of Seward County. Using local newspapers
published since 1870, Hostetler has compiled stories about the town of
Milford and the surrounding county, covering everything from the local
weather, recreation, industry, and crime.
Michael Huckabee is the author of the Christian medical thriller Healing Noelle and Torch, the thrilling story of the dangers faced by a team of missionaries in Russia. Janet Jergeris a ballet instructor from Seward, Nebraska. She has written The Ballet Combination Book, an instruction book for ballet teachers with over 250 exercises for the ballet class. MJ Melneck grew up in Montana but now lives in Hastings, Nebraska, where he teaches and writes. His short fiction, reviews, and essays appear widely. His latest work is Old Music, a novel of murder, love and redemption set in Montana.
Marjorie Saiser's first book, Bones of a Very Fine Hand, won the
Nebraska Book Award for Poetry in 2000. She has continued to
write poetry, and, with Shelly Clark, has compiled a collection of
interviews with Nebraska writers.
N. L. Sharp's first book, Today I'm Going Fishing with my Dad, was a 1995 Golden Sower nominee. The Ring Bear is also an award-winning title . Effie's Image, her new book, is a 2007-2008 Golden Sower nominee. Nancy lives in Fremont, Nebraska.

Beef Torrey is editor of the newly-released collection of interviews with novelist, rancher, screenwriter, and otherwise-talented Thomas McGuane, Conversations with Thomas McGuane. Torrey lives in Crete, Nebraska, and he works as a psychologist associate in Beatrice. His work has been published in numerous magazines and journals.
Dr. William Wolfram,
professor in the art department at Concordia University in Seward,
Nebraska, with the Center for Liturgical Art, has published Regarding the Cross, provocative,
digitally manipulated images that encourage readers to meditate on the
Cross of Christ.
