This I Believe Seward was a community-wide project sponsored by Chapters Books & Gifts and the Seward County Independent.  Our goal was to encourage Seward-area residents to reflect on and engage in oral and written conversations about the personal values and beliefs that shape our lives.  It was based on the National Public Radio series and companion book, This I Believe by Jay Allison, published by Henry Holt (2006) . 

Of the 60 essays submitted so far to This I Believe Seward, ten authors volunteered to read their essays at a This I Believe Seward Celebration.  To see video of the Celebration, as well as to submit an essay or read all of the essays, visit
