Chapters Summer Camp 2009

June 22-26

Monday's fun included a birthday party for Eric Carle and his Very Hungry Caterpillar, a pedicure party, and fun with gardening.  Thanks, Shannon Newburn for sharing your compost and Monica Zabka for sharing your nail polish and foot scrub!

Tuesday started out with a trip to Bobbi and Art Arnt's farm to feed the llamas and other animals, then ended at Chapters with a bunch of kids playing in the trash--and learning about reusing and recycling.  Thanks to the Arnts for their hospitality.  We had a wonderful time!

Wednesday, we went from llamas to Duck and Goose, and from recycling to saving--and having fun with--water.

Thursday's themes were "Bad Kitty" in the morning and "Animals All Around Us" in the afternoon.  We read stories, played games, and, of course, had fun snacks to go with our themes.

For the big finale, on Friday we participated in the "Dog and Bear National Tour" with visits from plush friends, celebrated traditional musical instruments with David Seay, and made our own cartoons while celebrating everything green.  Thanks to everyone who helped with or came to camp.  It was a fun week!
